Size

This listing is for an unframed portrait painting of one pet with a very simple background. Frame not included. If you would like a larger size than listed, please reach out and I can provide you with an estimate.

FINISH: All paintings are painted using high quality acrylic paint. When completed, the painting will be varnished to help protect and ensure that it will last for many years to come. **If you would like your portrait painted in a different medium, such as oil paint, please reach out to me, and I can provide you with a separate estimate.

TIMELINE: Most acrylic portrait paintings take about 2-3 weeks to finish once they are started. Sometimes, there is a waitlist and we will let you know the rough estimate of when we can get started on your painting. If you have a specific “need by date” please reach out to us, and we can let you know how many paintings are ahead of yours and if we will be able to meet your deadline. Extra charges will be incurred for rush deliveries.

COMPLICATED BACKGROUND: If you would like something painted in the background other than a plain color,  additional charges will apply. Even more complicated backgrounds (for example a water, forest, intricate buildings or fabric, etc), require a considerable amount of extra time to paint and thus the reason for the additional charges. Once an estimate has been given for the additional background charges, if you no longer want to proceed with the painting, a full refund can be given (as long as painting has not been started-refer to returns/refunds section for more info).

PANELS VS. CANVAS: Panels vs. Canvas: Panels are a flat surface (usually a canvas or similar) that is about the depth of cardboard. These can usually be framed in standard frames (with our without a mat border) much like you would frame a print or picture. The glass of a standard frame can be kept in or taken out. Canvases are generally thicker (at least 1/2 inch to 2 inches in depth, depending on the type of canvas). These can be framed in canvas frames or floating canvas frames. Many sizes are available for purchasing online. Although some sizes can be difficult to find. For this reason, I do make frames for all the sizes offered. I do not require a frame to be purchased from me, but I recommend that the art should always be framed. Custom framing locations can help you choose the best frame.

CONTACT INFO: Please include any pertinent contact information at checkout, so that the artist can contact you to discuss your piece, obtain photos, as well as an estimate of cost and start/completion times.

REFUNDS AND RETURNS:

Pet portrait paintings are made to order just for you.

After you place your order, I will reach out to get the photo(s) for your pet portrait and let you know an estimated start/completion date. If you need it by a certain date, please let us know. We will let you know if we can accommodate rush orders. Once the painting has been started, it is fully non-refundable. If a pet portrait has not been started, then it is 100% refundable. Please reach out as soon as possible if you decide to cancel to ensure the painting does not start.

A payment helps secure your spot on the wait list for a commission. If a wait list is longer than 6 months, then commissions will be closed until the wait list can be cleared up.
